St. Basil Scholarship Fund

About the St. Basil Scholarship Fund

The St. Basil Scholarship Fund is a subordinate organization of the Basiliad Institute. We aim to support the educational endeavors of K-12 students and schools, especially those in the Orthodox Catholic Church, by providing scholarships for certain primary and secondary school educational expenses in those states in which operate.

We harness the overwhelming generosity and charity of Orthodox Christians and others in the United States to help families seek the best possible education. We help them by leveraging administrative, financial, and tax efficiencies for donors and supporters.

Our philosophy

Orthodox schools and parents want the best possible education for their students and children. As St. Theophan the Recluse wrote, “Education is the most sacred of all sacred works… One must incline the spirit of the students so that the conviction would never be extinguished in them that our most important business is to please God, while scholarliness is a subordinate quality, incidental, useful only during the time of this life.”

By providing scholarships, we pray that more students will have a classical, liberal, and integrative education that awakens wonder, kindles a love of learning, sharpens discernment, produces good citizens, gives birth to love, leads to worship, and reintegrates fallen humanity.
